Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series is already a major success, and the company is looking to capitalize on that momentum. According to The Elec, a Korean publication, Samsung might launch its new Fold 6 and Flip 6 series earlier than expected.
The Elec reports that production for the Z series is planned to begin in the second week of May, which is two weeks earlier than the Z5 series production schedule. This suggests a potential release date for the Z6 series smartphones in mid-to-late July. The Fold 4 series was launched on August 11th of last year.
Entry Level Fold Phone
Samsung may also be planning to launch a budget-friendly foldable phone to compete directly with the iPhone 16. Previously, Samsung’s foldable phones primarily competed with the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models in terms of both price and performance. However, Samsung hasn’t yet captured the entry-level foldable market. If they can launch a foldable phone in the iPhone 16’s price range alongside the AI integration of the S24, it could be a huge success for Samsung.
Samsung aims to make the Z6 Flip and Fold phones the thinnest yet, improving grip for the new foldable lineup.
Samsung Unpacked Event 2024
Apple’s 2024 iPhone reveal likely happens in early July, with phone releases timed for the Paris Olympics. We can expect the devices to be available a few days after the Unpacked event, potentially in mid-to-late July.
Samsung is riding high on the success of the S24 series. There’s also speculation that the new S25 series might hit the market earlier than scheduled next year.
